Chef of the Week, 11th Mar 2018: Pushpa Urs

“Many buyers tell me that my cooking reminded them of their mother’s cooking!”

Definitely one of the best compliments that a home chef can receive from her buyers. This is something that Chef Pushpa Urs regularly hears from her foodies (buyers).

Chef Pushpa’s repertoire of dishes is quite extensive. Her specialities include a wide range of comforting regional dishes such as Thalipeeth from Maharashtra, Dabeli from Gujarat, Holige from Karnataka and the ubiquitous Dosa and Pav Bhaji. However, her absolute favourite dishes, the ones that she loves making are Carrot Halwa, Rasmalai and Besan Laddoos. In addition, buyers cannot get enough of her Paneer dishes such as Paneer Butter Masala and Paneer Tikka Masala. Have we made your mouth water yet? 🙂

So how did Chef Pushpa Urs join the FoodyBuddy family of home chefs? She found out about FoodyBuddy on her apartment notice board and then got started with the motivation of her husband and daughter. She has now sold more 2,000 meals on FoodyBuddy and does not plan to slow down anytime soon. She has her eyes set on completing 5,000 meals and then 10,000 meals! Chef Pushpa – with your amazing regional delicacies, we are sure you will do that very very soon 🙂

We asked Chef Pushpa about what motivates and inspires her to cook and sell these dishes on such a regular basis? She says it is very easy to do when you are passionate about cooking, care about quality and have buyers who are constantly asking you to prepare different types of dishes. She says it is important for all buddies (home chefs) to be passionate about cooking and consider their foodies as friends.

Chef Pushpa – FoodyBuddy wishes you all the very best!
