5 Healthy and Refreshing Beverages for the Summer

With summer just around the corner, we here at  FoodyBuddy wanted to help you keep hydrated and refreshed without compromising on your health. That’s why we’ve decided to come up with a list of lip-smacking drinks which are actually really good for you.

So, without any further ado, here is our list of 5 healthy and refreshing beverages for the summer:

#1)  Orange Juice

Who doesn’t love a nice tall glass of cold orange juice on a hot summer’s day, right? While it’s a delicious beverage, it also has the added advantage of being a great source of Vitamin C – something that can really help improve your body’s immunity.

Not just that, OJ’s anti-oxidant properties mean that it can help in fighting off various diseases. Just make sure that the orange juice you’re drinking isn’t loaded up with sugar, and you’re good to go!

#2) Pomegranate Juice

Pomegranates get a bad rap, don’t they? Despite being tasty, just the sheer effort of peeling them makes people stay away. Well, a simple solution is to consume the red fruit in its juice form.

After all, it is loaded with anti-oxidants and helps in preventing a number of different heart diseases while improving heart health. It’s even shown to be effective in the prevention of cancer.

Coconut water is one of the most consumed natural drinks in all of South India and there’s a very good reason why: it is cheap, refreshing, and extremely beneficial to one’s health.

It has a high concentration of carbohydrates, potassium, chlorides, and more. Take full advantage this summer by having as much as your heart desires. As an added bonus, drink the fresh coconut water available rather than the packaged ones.

#5) Lemon Water

No, I’m not talking about a Lemon Juice but rather, a mixture of lemon and water. Squeezing half a lemon into a glass of water and having it along with your breakfast is one of the healthiest ways you can start your day. You can add a little honey if you want the drink to be a little sweet.

It’s a great source of Vitamin C while also helping with digestion and cleansing your liver. It might be less tasty than lemon juice, but this is a far healthier alternative.
