This week on FoodyBuddy’s #WellnessWednesday series, we are looking at vegetarian food! We know that a lot of our Foodies and Buddies are vegetarian so we want to make your lives easier by offering some healthy veg alternatives to non-vegetarian food.

Cauliflower is a pretty versatile ingredient which can be used as a substitute for meats and egg in a variety of dishes.

Mushrooms are one of life’s greatest boons for vegetarians. They are incredibly tasty, good for the body, and act as a substitute for meats in a number of ways.
You can mushrooms instead of chicken or beef in sandwiches, burgers, and even pastas and pizzas!
I’m clubbing together a few different under the banner of legumes as they are all useful meat substitutes in different ways. Chickpeas and beans are the two major ones here and it’s their high protein content which make them perfect substitutes.
You can use them instead of chicken when making soups and even salads!

Seitan is one of the most meat-like vegetarian ingredients in the world. It is called “wheat meat” and is very similar to meat when cooked. Luckily, it’s 100% vegetarian!

Soya is another amazing meat substitute as it also provides a very similar taste and texture to chicken while being 100% vegetarian – just like Seitan.
Soya has been used in Indian cooking in a variety of different ways – and one of the best applications comes in the form of Soya Chaap!
