Chef of the Week, 22nd June 2018 – Chef Urmila Nain

Hello, Foodies and Buddies!

After an absence last week, our Chef of the Week column returns – and this time we are featuring Chef Urmila Nain who recently crossed the 1000 Meals Sold Milestone on FoodyBuddy!

Selling from Sobha Hillview, Chef Urmila started her FoodyBuddy journey by downloading the app followed by numerous interactions with our CEO, Akil Sethuraman. Since then, she has become one of the most beloved sellers on our platform.

Having sold more than 1000 meals, we asked Chef Urmila what keeps her going on FoodyBuddy. She replied by saying, “It’s my love for food and the satisfaction that I see in people’s eyes when they tell me about me my food. It’s a priceless feeling to make someone happy with food.” It’s easy to tell that she is a true Chef at heart 🙂

Being such an avid lover of food, we asked Chef Urmila what her favourite dishes were. She replied, “This is a hard one to answer. I love cooking in general. But my favourites are Paneer Butter Masala, Makke Ki Roti & Sarson Ka Saag, and all kinds of Parathas, of course.”

Chef Urmila also has four dishes which she says are her most popular ones. They are – Punjabi Aloo Paratha, Daal Baati Choorma, Mint Lemonade, and Aam Panna! And, all of these dishes are lip-smackingly good!

Foodies who have tasted Chef Urmila’s food certainly agree that her cooking is world class! Take, for example, this interaction that Chef Urmila had with a young Foodie:

“My neighbour’s daughter (around 7-8 yrs) comes to my house every Sunday to eat Chaat Papdi. She just loves it. She always enquires and reminds me on Saturday evening to make Chaat Papdi for her. And that makes me really happy. It’s the best feedback that I can get.” What a lovely story!

Chef Urmila is certainly one of the most experienced Buddies on our platform and we asked her what advice she would have for new sellers.”To all the new buddies out there I would like to say that Food is a mirror that reflects you. Always give your 100% in whatever you make and remember to always add a lot of love. This food will get you the love and respect that you deserve,” she explained.

And, in closing, we asked Chef Urmila what the future held for her and she replied, “I always had (and still have) a dream to have my own restaurant. FoodyBuddy has given me a first-hand experience of that. It’s the first step towards my dream.”

We are very sure that your dreams will become a reality, Chef Urmila and thank you so much for being such a treasured member of the FoodyBuddy community 🙂
