Chef of the Week, 29th June 2018 – Chef Kanak Sankhla

Hello, Foodies and Buddies!

Our Chef of the Week column is back and this time we have a special lady in the spotlight: Chef Kanak Sankhla from Prestige St John’s Wood!

One of the top home chefs on FoodyBuddy, Chef Kanak’s popularity comes from her love of feeding people. She explained to us when quizzed on how she got started with FoodyBuddy, “I love feeding people but never got a chance to reach as many people. When FoodyBuddy was being introduced to SJW (St. John’s Wood), initially I was sceptical. But, it was a platform I have always waited for, so signing up was very natural.”

She also expressed her gratitude to friends and neighbours saying, “Thanks to our apartment groups and some very active members who introduced FoodyBuddy to SJW and helped me pursue my passion.”

Chef Kanak is one of the most prolific chefs on FoodyBuddy, having crossed the 1000 Meals Sold Milestone and when quizzed on what inspires her to keep going, she said, “I am really passionate about experimenting with food, it’s more like an art than a task to me.

“Over the years it’s just been my family and friends who I have been able to spread the love to, but FoodyBuddy has given me wonderful way to touch more lives. When people call and tell me how much they loved what I cooked for them, it gets me even more motivated,” she concluded with a smile.

Chef Kanak loves cooking Sweets and Chaats and some of her most popular dishes on FoodyBuddy include Veg Thali, Gulabpatti Sandesh, and a variety of Chaat items.

Foodies at St John’s Wood have nothing but praises to sing about Chef Kanak and she says that it is their love, encouragement, and inspiration that keeps her coming back to sell again and again.

She had some simple words for new Buddies looking to make it big on the FoodyBuddy platform. She said, “Everyone is great at what they do, just Keep cooking!”

And finally, Chef Kanak also revealed to us what she hopes for in the future. She said, “I would love to expand to catering for larger groups, make my food reach more and more stomachs!”
