Chef of the Week, 21st December 2018 – Beenu Virmani

Hello, Foodies and Buddies!

It’s time for a Chef of the Week column and this time around we have Chef Beenu Virmani – a veteran FoodyBuddy chef – who recently crossed the 1000 Meals Sold Milestone!

We asked Chef Beenu how she got her start on FoodyBuddy and she replied, “I came across the app link through a WhatsApp group in our apartment and as I was always passionate about cooking, I was looking for a platform like this for a long time. So I registered myself with FoodyBuddy, had a word with Mr Akil (CEO of FoodyBuddy), who explained the concept to me, and I got started!”

During her time on FoodyBuddy, Chef Beenu has won the hearts of hundreds of Foodies having sold over 1000 Meals. We asked her what keeps her inspired and motivated to keep selling.

She replied, “My love and passion for cooking inspired me to cook, but yes, the love and appreciation from my Foodies motivates me to cook the best I can and I try to do it with all my soul. It is always satisfying to see a smile on my Foodies’ faces.  And above all with the support and help from my family, I was able to achieve this goal.”

Chef Beenu is a versatile chef and we asked her about her specialities.

“Though cooking is my love, all my dishes are my favourites and to name the few Stuffed Mushroom, Chole Bhature, Makki ki roti and Sarson ka saag, a few varieties of Chicken and Paneer dishes, Dum Biryani’s, Gajar ka Halwa and many more.”

She also told us what her most popular dishes are on the FoodyBuddy app. “Makki Ki Roti and Sarson Ka Saag, Koyla Chicken, Chicken Kalimiri, Gajar ka Halwa, Stuffed Mushrooms and Stuffed Parathas which my beloved Foodies regularly order and request me to cook,” she said with a fond smile!

Chef Beenu’s amazing cooking has led to some heartwarming interactions with Foodies. She regaled us with a few tales of these interactions.

“One of my Foodies once told me that “I have a taste of a Mother’s hand and I put my soul in cooking.”Some buyers tell me that their children love the paneer dishes made by me. Once, one of the buddies made a video of his child eating and enjoying stuffed mushroom made by me and shared it with me and I was so touched by the child’s expression.”

Chef Beenu also had some good advice for new Buddies looking to follow her path to FoodyBuddy success. “As for advice to new buddies, I would tell them to cook with the same love and affection you cook for your family and to never compromise with the quantity and quality of food.”

Chef Beenu also has some entrepreneurial plans for her future saying, “My future plans are to do branding for myself and connect to more and more people so that I can serve them with home cooked food.”

We are certain you will achieve your goals, Chef Beenu 🙂

Finally, Chef Beenu said in closing, “In conclusion, I would like to thank FoodyBuddy for giving me this platform. There is no food on earth as comforting as home cooked food, because various dishes which are served in lavish restaurants have no match with what our mother serves at home. FoodyBuddy is doing a great job by connecting its Foodies and Buddies together, so everyone who cannot cook is at least no deprived of home cooked food.”

That is a wonderful way of thinking, Chef Beenu, and we would like to thank you for being such an amazing part of the FoodyBuddy family 🙂
