Chef of the Week, 11th January 2019 – Rekha Maurya

Hello, Foodies and Buddies!

It’s Friday, which means its time for our latest Chef of the Week column and this week, we are featuring Chef Rekha Maurya who has crossed the 1000 Meals Sold Milestone on FoodyBuddy recently!

We caught up with Chef Rekha and asked her about her FoodyBuddy journey starting with how she got started on our platform.

She replied, “I always had a passion for cooking but never had a platform. When I got to know about FoodyBuddy, I realized that this is what I have been waiting for. I started with Amritsari-Stuffed Paneer Kulcha with Chole and it was so loved by the Foodies that it became my signature dish. This encouraged me to introduce a variety of dishes and see my passion turning into glorious reality.”

So, what keeps Chef Rekha motivated to keep selling on FoodyBuddy? She said, “I believe any Chef gets motivated when his or her food is appreciated by Foodies. I firmly believe that FoodyBuddy has given a great platform, not only to me but to all the Chefs and has allowed their rich talent for cooking to reach the outside world. Last but not least, I have huge support from my family to continue with this passion of mine.”

We asked Chef Rekha what her specialities and most-loved dishes were and she replied, “My speciality is Punjabi and North Indian food. My favorite dishes that I like to cook, but not restricted to, are Amritsari Paneer/Aloo Kulche with Chole, Chole Bathure, Vada Pav -Mumbai Style, Delhi Style Samosa, Delhi-Aloo-Tikki Chaat, Kadhai Paneer, Shahi Paneer, Paneer Lahori, Paneer Parantha, Langar Halwa, Malpua-Rabri, Assorted Khoya Modak, Italian Pasta, and Italian Calzone.”

“My most-ordered dishes are all my Paneer dishes like Kadhai Paneer, Shahi Paneer, etc, Vada Pav, and Samosa!”

Being such a special seller on FoodyBuddy, we asked Chef Rekha if she had any special interactions with Foodie and she answered, “I had several humble interactions with Foodies when I was able to cook food for them on an urgent basis – within an hour. There were situations like the arrival of sudden guests, sudden demands from kids, etc!”

Chef Rekha also had some words of advice for new sellers on the FoodyBuddy platform. She said, “FoodyBuddy is a great platform and cooking is a passion, an art. Focus on quality, understand your customer and you will have a great time seeing your passion turned into reality!”

Finally, we quizzed Chef Rekha on her future plans and she said, “I want to continue to keep my passion of cooking alive. I believe in God and will accept the way life will be driven by God.”

Congrats to Chef Rekha for her awesome contributions to FoodyBuddy and would like to wish her all the very best going forward 🙂
