Hello, Foodies and Buddies!
Welcome to our first Chef of the Week feature for the month of May where Chef Usha Kedar Shenoy takes her place in the spotlight. Chef Usha is one of the most loved chefs on the FoodyBuddy who has recently crossed the 1000 Meals Sold Milestone!
We asked Chef Usha how she got started on the FoodyBuddy app and she said, ” I always loved cooking and feeding people. One day a friend of mine told me about the FoodyBuddy app and suggested that I should join as a chef. I checked online, loved this new concept and immediately enrolled myself!”
Having sold such a large number of meals, what is it that keeps Chef Usha motivated to keep selling? She replied, “The love and appreciation I get from my Foodies, and the support from my family and friends makes me want to do more in FoodyBuddy.”
When quizzed on her specialities, Chef Usha said, “As a mother of two, I love to cook all kinds of cuisines and I strongly believe that cooking at home lets your kids enjoy all their favourite food without compromising on taste and nutrition.”
That is exactly the thought process behind FoodyBuddy, ma’am 🙂
Chef Usha has a lot of popular dishes, some of which she listed. “A few of the items that buyers ask from me are Mangalorean breakfast dishes like Shevai, Neer Dosa and different kinds of Idli/Dosa batters, Chutney Powder, Chat items like Ragda Pattis, Fast food items like Jumbo Veggie Burgers, etc. My signature dishes are Egg Boat, Methi Salad, Purple Cabbage Salad, and Cream of Mushroom Soup,”
A great variety of dishes by a versatile chef!
Chef Usha has had some memorable interactions with her Foodies. She said, “I love it when some of my cute little customers call me, ‘Chutney Powder Aunty,’ ‘Yummy Dosa Aunty,’ and ‘Super Burger Aunty.’ etc.”
She continued, “My happiest moments are when I ring the bell and these kids come running to give me a hug. Once a mother even told me that her little one sprinkled my chutney powder on noodles ordered from a restaurant and exclaimed, ‘Now, it’s tasty!’
And I feel blessed when customers appreciate my batter for making their breakfast easy and healthy.”
When asked what tips she had for other new chefs looking to emulate her success, Chef Usha said, “My tips to new buddies is that cook with love and put all your good vibes in it and your food definitely will turn out to be tasty and healthy!”
Great advice, Chef 🙂
And in closing, Chef Usha said, “I want to introduce more of our traditional Mangalorean dishes in my FoodyBuddy kitchen and thanks to Foodybuddy for giving me this platform to hone my cooking skills!”
Thank you so much for being a part of the FoodyBuddy family, Chef Usha, and all the very best to you going forward 🙂
