Chef of the Week, 24th May 2019 – Preetha Ima

Hello, Foodies and Buddies!

Welcome to our Chef of the Week column and on this edition, we have Chef Preetha Ima who recently crossed the 1000 Meals Sold Milestone! Congrats to Chef Preetha who has come such a long way since her start on FoodyBuddy.

She described her start on the platform saying, “My friend, Swati, from our community, sent me the link to the FoodyBuddy app and [FoodyBuddy Employee] Rashimtha met me in person and explained the rest!”

Having made such tremendous progress on the FoodyBuddy platform, we were wondering what keeps Chef Preeth inspired and she replied, “I started cooking and selling on FoodyBuddy as a hobby – a means to earn some money by doing what I love – but when I saw the response from my clients and the feedback from people who enjoyed my food I just got motivated to cook more and try recipes which I hadn’t made in a long time!”

Your Foodies are certainly grateful to you for that, Chef Preetha 🙂

When asked about her most popular dishes, Chef Preetha referred us to the words of her Foodies and said, “People tell me that I make good appetisers – my cutlets, rolls and other hors d’oeuvre always get good reviews, and I love making them for people! Also, my Lemon-Mint Squash has been getting fabulous reviews this summer and so have my desserts. I’m always open to experimenting!”

Chef Preetha’ most popular dishes include Cutlets, Baked Rolls, Apple Upside-Down Cake, Caramel Pudding, Tawa Fish Fry, Chilli Pickle, and Mint-Lime Squash!

We also asked Chef Preetha what advice she has for new Buddies and she said, “FoodyBuddy is a beautiful platform to showcase our talent. Don’t give up,  keep cooking, and spread the joy!”

When quizzed about her future plans, Chef Preetha explained with a smile, “I never thought I would be in this business – I just always loved cooking for people and volume was never an issue. I’m glad people say that the quality is consistent! I’m just going to continue sharing the joy of cooking from my kitchen – and if the business grows? Then, I’m all the happier!”

What a wonderful attitude, ma’am!

Finally, Chef Preeth said in closing, “I don’t think FoodyBuddy has missed much. The app was pretty new to me but it was easy to get used to, and the visibility online in social media definitely helps. Glad to be on board and hoping for a long a fruitful partnership!”

We certainly hope so too, and we wish you all the very best going forward, Chef!
