Chef Sneha Sreejith’s FoodyBuddy Story!

Hello, Foodies and Buddies!

It’s time for another FoodyBuddy story and on this edition, we have Chef Sneha Sreejith and this is what she had to say about her experience on our platform:

“Hello to all Foodies and Buddies! It’s really great to be associated with the FoodyBuddy family. After joining FoodyBuddy, our (my husband and I) weekend schedules have changed greatly.

Instead of roaming one mall to another, me and my husband, we are busy cooking new dishes instead! He helps me a lot – especially with Kerala-style Fish Curries – since I am a pure vegetarian! Our weekend’s menus at home are getting tastier than ever before. This is because we both have a passion for culinary art and serving foodies.

What’s more, FoodyBuddy gives us a chance to connect with our apartment folks and even the apartment kids enjoy our homemade evening snacks.

FoodyBuddy has given us the chance to be creative, collaborative, and well connected using the culinary arts.

Thanks, FoodyBuddy Team!”

Thank you, ma’am, for such positive and inspiring words and all the very best to you going forward 🙂

Chef Neelima Talwar’s FoodyBuddy Story!

Hello, Foodies and Buddies!

It’s FoodyBuddy Stories time and we have Chef Neelima Talwar who shares her awesome story with us today:

“Cooking has always fascinated me because it is a fine art like painting and writing. I’ve delved deep into the latter two during my university days and found time for them again after I gave up my job a few years ago.

I met Akil in June this year who briefed me about the concept of homecooked food on FoodyBuddy which was very impressive. I knew that such niche markets exist in cities like Bangalore and Mumbai where people are getting very health conscious due to their sedentary lifestyles.

The apartment I live in is full of well-educated women who are up-to-date about intelligent nurturing. They are all into yoga, swimming, walking and healthy living. After all, you are what you eat.

I started off in FoodyBuddy with millets, but all millets are to be eaten with cooked vegetables. They have limitations when they have to be paired with raw food. So, I tried a few new things as well. The Jowar Idli and Millet Khichdi that I made were a huge hit in our apartment. Soon there were clones.

I moved on to salads, which are obviously a better choice than millets. But not all Indians can enjoy salads. They needed tastier ones, and at the same time, I knew that they wanted it to be reasonably priced which was a challenge.

I ordered salads everywhere I went and most were loaded with mayonnaise, and the standard ones were just a huge mix of various types of calorie-loaded sauces and dressings. I wanted to make salads which were healthy and exciting for the buyers. As a part of the salad experiments, I started with “The Detox Salad” and a “Buddha Bowl” with Quinoa as the hero.

Both became sought-after dishes. But on top of the list was the Detox Salad in a Jar. This salad still holds a lot of respect among the buyers because it has a lot to do with the addition of new fruits and changes in dressings all the time. Passion Fruit Dressing is one big hit. Someone told me that my salad was ‘Value for money,” and another said, ‘They feel lucky to have me here.’

There are a handful who regularly order from me, and I’m so indebted to them for putting their faith in me. The spends on the fruits and ingredients are pretty high for me, the money which comes in just about covers its math. I know I’m under-priced, but I want to become a habit to people here!

I love experimenting and I have a great line-up of new salads, health drinks and post-workout smoothies. I must say that my community here actually helped me do a lot of R&D and I soon plan to come up with salads made of Oats Groats and Pasta Quinoa dishes with Italian seasoning.

One day, I dream to have my own virtual salad bar on Foodybuddy and people will just have to get a customised salad in a jiffy!”

And here is what some of Chef Neelima’s biggest fans have to say:

Congrats to Chef Neelima for her amazing success on FoodyBuddy and all the best to you going forward 🙂

Chef Sandhya Sinha’s FoodyBuddy Story!

Hello, Foodies and Buddies!

Welcome to 2019! We kick off the new year with our newest FoodyBuddy Story featuring Chef Sandhya Sinha. Here is what she had to say:

I was a working professional till 2010. We were blessed with twin daughters and I had to quit my job to raise our daughters.

My husband got transferred to Hyderabad in January 2018. We moved there and I was looking for a job with flexible timings so that I can work and be with my daughters also as they were 8 years old and started going to a day-boarding school. One day in our apartment complex, on a WhatsApp group, someone shared information about FoodyBuddy.

I love cooking and keep trying new dishes at home. So I thought why not give it a try. I posted my first signature dish on 28th October and luckily got an order the very first day also. And now I have completed over 6OO servings in just 51 days.

I am really thankful to FoodyBuddy for giving me the opportunity to pursue my hobby with flexible timings and making me financially independent after a sabbatical of 9 years.”

Chef Sandhya Sinha

Thank you, Chef Sandhya, for sharing this awesome story with us. These are the kind of inspiring words which validates the existence of a platform like FoodyBuddy 🙂

Chef Megha Shabu’s FoodyBuddy Story!

Hello, Foodies and Buddies!

We recently started a new series called FoodyBuddy Stories where Foodies and Buddies can share some of their most wonderful experiences on our platform!

Today’s FoodyBuddy Story comes to us from Chef Megha Shabu and this is what she had to say:

“Two years ago I moved from Bangalore. I was in a quest to find my inner calling so my job search was on pause. I constantly dreamt about food and I believe in my dreams.

I first started baking for friends and family and then slowly started introducing my exquisite dishes like Biryani and Kebabs which were all very well appreciated. But, I knew there was more to it for me.

Then, someone in our community mentioned FoodyBuddy to me. Initially, I was sceptical but took a chance on October 29th. From then, there is no looking back and it’s like a dream come true for me. Today people address me as Chef Megha I take great pride in that.

My most precious feedback is from kids. One of my customer’s daughters told me that my kids are so lucky to have a chef as a mom and that I should open a restaurant.

I was walking one night around the apartment after all my orders were done. There were these bunch of kids who ran up to me and said, “Aunty, your Choco Lava was great!” Another one said, “Your Chicken Fingers were so yummy,” and another said, “Aunty, your Brownies were very tasty,” and each one had a glow and glee on their faces which lit me up.

Another comment which was very inspiring came from a lady who said, “Biryani has a new address now!” These are moments which inspire me to do more. I sleep contentedly when I know I have fed a few more people today.

FoodyBuddy has opened new doors for me to explore my passion. I am doing what I love and I love to cook and serve and this brings me great joy. I have many more stories but now I have to prepare today’s meal! I love FoodyBuddy and wish all chefs wonderful and inspiring moments!”

Thank you for this most amazing input, Chef Megha! Your story has brought a warm smile to all of our faces and we would like to wish you all the very best going forward 🙂
